Book 1:
Sagas of the Shield Maiden is an oversized, Viking western, perfect bound comics anthology that recounts the legends, or sagas, of the titular Shield Maiden as she traverses Scandinavia and beyond the North Sea. This book is created by Asa Wheatley and contains 5 stories with artwork from Daniel Coloma, Kay Baird, Kevin Keane, Michelle Marham and Sammy Ward, with an amazing wraparound cover by Sweeney Boo. Each of the stories is lettered by Ken Reynolds, who also did the brilliant title design.
Book 2:
Book Two has an astounding team of artists throughout including Alex Moore, Alex Schlitz, Katie Fleming & Fabi Marques. With an absolutely beautiful cover by Erica Henderson! Ken Reynolds is back to do the lettering and book design again after the fantastic work he did last year with Book One. Exploring the more mercenary and older side of the Shield Maiden as well as the romantic side of her younger self with an interstitial story pitting our titular hero as an almost Kaiju like figure as she slaughters bandits in a burning village.
